"The Green Mile" Actor Michael Clarke Duncan Dead At 54

Michael Clarke Duncan, who is known for his exceptional role in the 1999 film "The Green Mile", died early Monday morning at 54 years old. Duncan had a heart attack on July 13 and failed to fully recover after being in the hospital for almost seven weeks. It was Duncan's reality star girlfriend Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth who saved his life when he first had the heart attack, but unfortunately it wasn't enough.

Duncan most recently worked on the Fox network TV series "The Finder". His co-star on that show Mercedes Masohn expressed her grief tweeting, "Today is a sad day. Michael Clarke Duncan passed away this morning. Known for his moving performance in The Green Mile. RIP MCD. You'll b missed." The series was canceled in May, just two months before Duncan suffered his eventually fatal heart attack.

Duncan's breakout role was in the apocalyptic thriller Armageddon, in which he became good friends with Bruce Willis. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for his work in "The Green Mile".

Roger Ebert described him well in a tweet on Monday which called Duncan, "A striking screen presence."

May his soul rest in peace.
